Potions

Here at COFF, we have video chats, as I mentioned a while ago when I talked about WitchCrafting BOS. That study has come and gone, and we have moved on to a new BOS study covering potions. These BOS can be their own individual books, or they can be encapsulated into a much larger volume if you wish. These studies are meant to go beyond the basics and help you to create a reference for future use, which I am sure you will always be adding to and changing as you change.

If, like me, you grew up during the decade (circa 1965–1975) of hippies, Haight-Ashbury, head shops, Flower Power, peace, making love – not war, psychedelic art and music, Mary Quant’s (at the time) daring miniskirts and revolutionary cosmetics, and the Beach Boys picking up good vibrations, then congratulations! You’re already way ahead when it comes to grasping the concepts of universal energy, vibrations, and frequencies.

Spring Cleaning

When I was a boy growing up, major house cleaning always took place in May before Memorial Day (spring cleaning) and again in September after Labor Day (fall cleaning). My home would be a frenzy of chaotic, emptied rooms — walls stripped bare, furniture rearranged, and clean curtains put up. This was all done for spring cleaning or fall cleaning. These were the times of year when you decluttered your homes, got rid of all the dust and dirt that had been hiding behind furniture, and rearranged your rooms to give even wear and tear on the floors.

Here Comes the Sun

Originally, as it was for many other cultures, the sun of the Celts was female, and in Ireland and Scotland, at least, it remained so. We know this because all the Irish and Scottish Gaelic words for the Sun are feminine. That is why you see the Sun referred to as “Mother” herein this lovely song, which I think makes a wonderful way to greet the Sun each morning:

Gardens

I think that every magickal person has at least tried at one time or another to grow a garden, even if they don’t currently have one. I understand that not everyone, even in the Pagan community, has a green thumb. Still, I do believe that if you just take your time and have some patience, you can grow anything.

The Fae

Do you wish to work with the Fae more? Beltaine through Midsummer is a wonderful time to do that. Even though the Fae are active all year round, it is in mid-summer when they seem to be at their most energetic. A wonderful way to start working with them is to invite them into your home or garden.
